A Japanese proverb says: “Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.” I wonder what that means about my own lifelong Homework for a Vision?

In Walden Thoreau makes an interesting fashion statement: “Beware of enterprises that require new clothes.” I have followed his advice conscientiously since the 1970s. Later I bought myself a T-shirt that bears the last two words of another famous quotation from Walden: “Our life is frittered away by detail…. Simplify, simplify.”

Thoreau’s Journal for March 11, 1856, pronounces: “That man is richest whose pleasures are cheapest.” I would say the same goes for a woman ….
